The Goldfields/Esperance Industry Road Safety Alliance (GEIRSA) was formed in 2015 to drive a coordinated and proactive approach to eliminate death and serious injury in the region. The Goldfields/Esperance region has a particular focus on improving road safety for local industry groups and to address regional tourists using roads in the region.
The GEIRSA are currently focusing on increasing road safety around gravel roads and improving journey planning and services in remote areas such as the Eyre highway. They are also actively working towards mitigating the risks associated with animal hazards.
Current members include CBH, Chamber of Minerals and Energy, City of Kalgoorlie/Boulder, Department of Mines and Petroleum, Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines (KCGM), Lendlease, Norton Goldfields, RAC, Shire of Coolgardie, Shire of Esperance, Toll Mining along with local government representation from Main Roads, WALGA's RoadWise and WA Police.
