Traffic open day news

17 Dec 2019

The Road Safety Commission (Commission), supported by WALGA RoadWise, reached out to the community at the WA Police Force’s Traffic Open Day in Midland on Sunday.

Acting Road Safety Commissioner Roger Farley joined Commission staff and engaged the public in a road safety conversation with community members who braved the oppressive heat.

The State Traffic Branch opened the doors for a rare opportunity for visitors to view police cars and bikes, a fire tender, speed cameras and a booze bus at the State Traffic Branch.

The Commission interacted with members of the community, who asked questions and offered their views on driver behaviour.

Information was shared about merging, roundabouts, driver distraction, child restraints and the Used Car Safety Rating Buyer’s Guide, as well as the minimum safe passing distance law.
