The Road Safety Commission welcomed a new Acting Commissioner this week.

15 Feb 2019
Simon Grieve has joined the Commission from the Department of Transport where he was Director Strategic Transport Analysis and Reform.

Mr Grieve has led various teams at the Department of Transport and Main Road WA as project manager, including the implementation of autonomous vehicles in WA, new transport technology and how it might impact the State and the review and upgrade of WA’s Pilot Vehicle Licensing arrangements.

At the Road Safety Commission, Mr Grieve will oversee the Commission’s role in the development of the State’s next road safety strategy.

“The Road Safety Commission is about to embark on a comprehensive community consultation process on behalf of the Road Safety Council,” said Mr Grieve.

“Our team will visit all regions of the State to determine what the Western Australian community is prepared to do beyond 2020 to eliminate death and serious injury on WA roads.

“I encourage all Western Australians to be involved in this process as we work towards zero.”

The community can pre-register for information on the community consultation and community forums in each region on the Road Safety Commission website.
