The Road Safety Commission is working with the truck and heavy vehicle industry to develop our Trucks and Heavy Vehicles safety page to encourage safe sharing of the roads between trucks and other road users.

After the success of the first series of Tips from Truckies videos last year, the Commission has recruited more WA drivers, trainers and companies to share their safety tips with the community.

The people in our videos are real members of the trucking and heavy transport industry in Western Australia.
The latest Tips from Truckies videos were shot at a recent Transafe WA safety forum in Maylands and cover topics such as:
  • leaving enough stopping distance for a truck;
  • being aware of a truck’s blind spots;
  • sharing the roads with caravans;
  • safe overtaking in regional WA; and
  • secure loads on trucks.
We encourage truck drivers and operators to have input into what safety messages we should be sharing with the community to ensure safe sharing of the roads through the Contact Us page.

Make sure you share the new series of Tips from Truckies videos via the Road Safety Commission Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
