Community forums continue as Western Australians have their say
The Road Safety Council has announced the next community forum to assist in the development of WA’s next road safety strategy will be held in Gosnells on Thursday 18 July 2019.
More than 50 community and stakeholder forums will be held around Western Australia as the Road Safety Council consults with the community on what they are prepared to do to pursue zero deaths and serious injuries on the roads.
Minister for Road Safety Michelle Roberts opened the first of the community forums in Greenwood on Monday night, while Road Safety Council Chairman Iain Cameron discussed how a Safe System would help on the journey to zero.
At the Greenwood community forum, the public and stakeholders engaged in robust conversation about road safety and provided essential feedback that will be used by the Road Safety Council to prepare a draft road safety strategy that will be provided to the Minister for Road Safety for consideration.
WA’s current road safety strategy, Towards Zero 2008 – 2020
expires next year.
All road users are encouraged to visit the Imagine Zero
where they can read the Consultation Paper, fill in the Feedback Form and register for a Community Forum in their area or region.
