Local Governments around Western Australia are encouraged to nominate for the 2018 Local Government Road Safety Awards.

The joint initiative by WALGA’s Road Wise and the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia, Western Australia Inc acknowledge outstanding achievements in road safety.

Local Governments are encouraged to nominate projects which have applied Safe System principles, such as innovative treatments that incorporate road infrastructure improvements, complementary initiatives, as well as local road safety partnerships and road safety champions.

Awards criteria, categories and nomination forms are available from RoadWise, with nominations closing on 27 July 2018.

The winners of the 2018 Local Government Road Safety Awards will be announced at the WA Transport and Roads Forum on 16 October 2018.

My local government, Melville, makes winning awards a priority.
However, their strategy of “prioritising” on street car parking is contrary to good safety practice, as confirmed by MUARC credible research, and other road safety research out of the USA.
It is unlikely that they would qualify for your award.
