WA children ask… ‘Have you seen me?”

The Road Safety Commission has put the spotlight on the safety of some of our most vulnerable road users.

Almost half a million school students will start their spring holidays this weekend, coinciding with the Queen’s Birthday long weekend and the start of the Perth Royal Show.

WA drivers have been urged to be extra alert and vigilant on the roads over the next two weeks.

“This video acts as a reminder to us that young children are unable to judge the speed of vehicles and don’t have the line of sight we do,” said Acting Road Safety Commissioner Iain Cameron.

“As a driver, if you see children, please anticipate that they may not see you around other vehicles and they may not able to judge the speed at which you are travelling.”

“Slow down, stay alert and be prepared to stop.”

Please ensure that your child is properly restrained every time you get in the car.

If you’re unsure, consult our Child Restraint Calculator to find the right one for your child.
